The 1st Interventional Cardiology Workshop of Rontis AG took place in two different hospitals in the city of Ho Chi Minh, in Vietnam on the 13th-19th of November 2016. This initiative was increasingly recognised by the Vietnamese Cardiovascular Society as an important contribution of knowledge in this scientific field. The Workshop gave the opportunity to share clinical, educational, scientific, and/or faculty development expertise among the interventional cardiologists. Our proctor, Dr. Vaios Tzifos, Head of Interventional Cardiology Department in Henry Dunant Hospital, Athens, Greece, successfully supported some of the most complex and difficult live cases using exclusively Rontis’ products.
Under this workshop all stakeholders involved were enormously benefited. From our side, we were able to strengthen the international reputation and increase brand awareness of our products. The participants had the opportunity to showcase and hone expertise skills while the experience served as a springboard for additional scholarly work. Also, they learned how to choose an appropriate balloon and stent, how to treat Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO), how to exchange and recognize the proper guidewire and how to reduce the time of procedure with excellent clinical results. As for the local physicians, they fostered networking with one of the KOL cardiologists in Europe and established a direct channel of collaboration and communication between the two institutions.
Given the success of this workshop, there was a specific request to be repeated in the near future.
